Managed MetaData In SharePoint
In this blog, we are going to discuss Some issues related to Managed Metadata,Terminology etc. And some questions like How can attached a url with term and what is limitation with of metadata navigation.Let's start.
Basically Metadata service provides a central location to store Metadata. Meta data is defined as "Data about Data". Metadata can be used across site collection and web application through Content type. Managed Metadata has some key terminology like Term Set, Term, Group etc.

Solution- This is because the publishing feature is not enabled for the site. In order for navigation to appear, we have to enable the SharePoint Server publishing feature from Site Settings -> Site Collection Administration -> Site Collection Features ->SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure.

Solution- Enable feature " MetaData Navigation and Filtering" to see Metadata Navigation in List & Library setting.
Question- How can attached a url with term in navigation?
Answer- This can be achieved by configuring Term Driven page section for a term. where you can add the URL of the page. When we click on this term in Navigation section. this page is loaded first time. See in Image-

Global navigation and current navigation in navigation of Look and feel section in site collection settings. Global Navigation is shown on top of the page. Current Navigation is shown on the side of Pages.

Question- What is Limitations of Managed Navigation-
Answer- Managed Navigation Has some limitations which are following
1- Relationship between Site Collection and Term Set
If term set is already configured to use for Site Collection navigation and if you try to reuse same term set in another site collection, SharePoint will throw following warning and accepting it will disconnect term set from previous site collection before associating with current site collection: The selected term set is already used by another site: https://sitecollection.sharepoint.com, Before proceeding, you should go to the navigation settings for the other site and deselect the term set. If the other site is no longer accessible, you can continue and take over the term set. If you proceed, this will break the navigation settings for the other site — are you sure?
2- Managed Navigation can’t be secured or targeted to specific group3- Managed Navigation doesn’t apply to Sub Sites automatically
To resolve this peculiar issue, you must open Navigation page from sub site settings page and click “OK” for to take in effect.
